Kie Tanno
My Wife Hamako's Mother. She was a cancer survivor. She is an independent, driven lady. It is amazing what she can do with a Garden and she teaches her neighbors how to grow vegetables.
My favorite memory of her is from 7 years ago(2017) when she was in her early 80s. I would stay home with her while my wife visited with her friends. She does not speak any English, and I speak very little Japanese, but she would take me for a daily walk around the neighborhood(around 3 miles), point things out, and tell me about them. I had no idea what she said, but I could only assume it. I also had difficulty keeping up with her as she walked so fast.
I know where my wife's Toughness comes from :>
She passed away in June 2025.

My brother-in-law. Since my wife's father passed away before I met her, I had to ask his permission to marry my wife. He was very dedicated to his family and worked hard to support them and his mother.
His lost is battle with Cancer

Daniel Jackson
Daniel is a fellow Veteran with whom I served in the U.S. Air Force while assigned to RAF Mildenhall. My fond memories of him while on this assignment were his constant comedic actions and our filming music videos in London before Social Media was even a thought in the inventors' minds. He was always getting people to laugh with his antics in almost every interaction. I was also his videographer for the music videos that he would have the group lip-sync to on trips to London. Every time I hear Watching You by the Black Flames reminds me of those sessions. He introduced me to a lot of great music while on that assignment.
If Social Media had been invented back in the 90s, I am sure he would have gone viral several times over.
He is currently fighting Prostate and Kidney Cancer

Brian Hewitt
Brian is one of my Martial Arts instructors in the United Fighting Arts Federation, and he has also been my Home, Auto, and Life Insurance agent for the last twenty-plus years. When I worked out at North Las Vegas Karate Academy, he used to kick my behind every time we sparred. I was fortunate as a lower belt to be one of the few adults in the class, so I got to fight the Black Belts on a regular basis. My favorite memory of working out with him was when sparring he had a big smile while he was teaching me a lesson on keeping my hands up and checking the kicks when they came in. He is definitely someone you don't want to get into a tussle with.
He currently is a cancer survivor and is in remission.
